Afternoon Tea at Fleur de Thé
For Mothers Day earlier this year my sister and I treated our Mum to an afternoon tea at Fleur de Thé at Danson House in Kent. It opened earlier this year and we thought it was the perfect excuse to go see what it was like!
Danson House is a grade I listed building based in Bexley. The tearoom is located at the back of the building with lovely views over Danson Park. It was beautifully decorated in a shabby chic vintage style and also had things for sale such as china used, trinkets and candles which we enjoyed looking at after we'd finished the afternoon tea.
They offer a variety of afternoon tea's ranging in price. We had the 'Sparkling afternoon tea' which included:
A selection of luxury sandwhiches
Warm homemade scone with clotted cream and jam
Unlimited selection of tea and coffee
Sweet treats
Single serve bottle of Tosti Pink Moscato
The scones were came out lovely and warm. You got a choice of plain or fruit which I liked as I will always pick plain given a choice!
Other than knowing the desserts would be sweet treats we didn't know what that would entail. They brought out the lemon possets. These were lovely light and refreshing and where we were all feeling full by this point.
Admittedly I was slightly disappointed that the cakes were not included within the afternoon tea as they all looked so delicious and were displayed on the dresser. If I was to go again I think I'd go for the afternoon tea option which includes a piece of homemade cake from the selection of the day.
The staff were really friendly and welcoming. It was a lovely experience and I would highly recommend!
You can find out more information on the afternoon tea's on their website here.
